Engineer Friedrich Kuhn-Weiss had a vision back in 1978: to solve friction and wear problems in systems and machines with high-performance lubricants and thus help industry to save several billion euros in costs. This vision became a reality. In the same year, the MoS2 lubrication technology pioneer founded OmniKote Spezialschmierstoffe GmbH, bringing his extensive experience to this recently established company. Newly developed high-performance lubricants reached the market and formed the cornerstone for today's full range. In 1981, the company changed its name to OKS Spezialschmierstoffe GmbH, continuing its expansion.
OKS has belonged to the internationally active Freudenberg Group since 2003. As a company in the Freudenberg Chemical Specialities (FCS) sub-group, OKS uses comprehensive know-how and high innovative capacity to develop new products and continue dynamic growth. FCS companies are market leaders in high-performance lubricants for industrial applications and in parting agents for the plastic, rubber, composite material and cast metal industries.
